Conclusions:
The dose calibrator performed extremely
well in all tests.
The precision and accuracy tests for a
wide range of radioisotopes showed that the precision
for individual measured activities was well within ±5%
for activities over 1 µCi. Even for very low activities
(0.38 µCi) the precision was within ±10%! The accuracy
was within ±10% even for the lowest measured activities.
For higher activities it approached the 1% level.
The linearity of the instrument was better
than ±1% for the measured range of activities (291 mCi
to 11.8 mci). No saturation effects were observed. The
geometry test failed to detect a significant change
in measured activity where the volume changed from 1cc
to 10cc.
Especially remarkable is the fact that
the dose calibrator was capable of measuring very small
activities of different radioisotopes with a high degree
of precision and accuracy.
